Airport Improvement Fee

The GTAA collects an Airport Improvement Fee (AIF). The AIF is collected on the tickets of departing and transferring passengers by the airlines on behalf of the GTAA. These fees are used to fund the redevelopment of Toronto Pearson, including the associated debt service. This redevelopment includes the Airport Development Program (for more information view the Executive Summary of the Airport Master Plan) and the extensive ancillary projects which have been described in the Annual Report and the Master Plan.

The Airport Improvement Fee for departing passengers is $20.00 and for connecting passengers the fee is $8.00. The fees are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes.
