Master Plan

Over the last decade, the GTAA has focused on redeveloping Toronto Pearson into a pre-eminent international airport, with facilities that meet travel and cargo demands in a bold new way. The new Master Plan, entitled Taking Flight: The Airport Master Plan 2008–2030, outlines continuing development of airport facilities that are passenger friendly, functional, visually appealing and cost-effective. In addition, it provides an overview of existing facilities alongside future needs and opportunities.

The Airport Master Plan is a reflection of the GTAA’s ongoing dialogue with the airlines, airport businesses, agencies of federal, provincial and municipal governments, the business community, airport users, community groups, special interest groups and the general public. It provides the framework required for corporate decision-making on a day-to-day basis, and clearly outlines progress and intentions for stakeholders.

While the previous Master Plan explored development of facilities to accommodate a growing passenger base, the 2008–2030 plan looks forward to a time when Toronto Pearson has reached capacity.

In order to meet our enhanced environmental standards, the Airport Master Plan is not available in print.
