Annual Award Draw2

The Safety & Security Incentive Award program is designed to recognize and show support for your participation in keeping the airport community a safer environment. The GTAA presented year end winners with their awards among their peers in celebration of their accomplishment and participation in the Suspicious Sam Program.

Congratulations to our year end draw winners!

Frederic Lavoie - Air Canada

Mr Lavoie stopped what seemed to be a lost passenger walking along the ramp by gate 157. Mr Lavoie proceeded to escort the lost individual out of the restricted area when ‘Suspicious Sam’ was identified.

Noel Rice - Bombardier

Mr Rice noticed an individual walking past Bombardier’s hangar on the restricted side and shouted at him to produce a pass. Mr Rice stopped the individual and ensured ‘Suspicious Sam’ stayed put while he called a security guard.

Mohamed Sheikahmed - Consolidated

Mr Sheikahmed observed an individual that appeared to be a construction worker, loitering around the East Satellite terminal without ID. Mr Sheikahmed approached ‘Suspicious Sam’ to ascertain his need and right and determined airport security needed to be notified.

Attan Yunous Sulaimon - Rainbow Shoe Shine

‘Suspicious Sam’ gained access in Terminal 3 by the Shoe Shine Shop in the transborder restricted area. With no ID visible and seemingly out of place, Mr Sulrimon challenged the individual to ascertain his right to be in the area.

Patrick Borges - Skycharter

Mr Borges observed an individual walking around the open apron area by Skycharter in the North End without a safety vest. Once Mr Borges challenged the individual regarding purpose of the visit, he realized the individual had no airport identification and was not authorized to be in the restricted area and proceeded to escort ‘Suspicious Sam’ out of the restricted area.
