Toronto Pearson TodayAdvice for March Break TravellersDate of Release: 2009/03/12
March break is always a busy time at the airport. Many families will be making their way out of town early this year. The GTAA expects Friday, March 13 to be the busiest travel day leading into the winter break. Passenger traffic is expected to be more than a typical day, with 100,000 people passing through Toronto Pearson International Airport.
In preparation for this busy time at the airport, it is good to remind passengers of some tips that can help ensure a successful travelling experience: • Confirm flight status before travelling to the airport either through your airline or by visiting www.GTAA.com. • Be aware of restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols. These items must be packed in a 100 ml container and fit into a single litre clear and resealable plastic bag. For more information on how to pack smart, please visit the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s website at www.catsa.acsta.gc.ca. • Check with your airline regarding information on baggage allowances and suggested check-in times. This will help you plan in advance how much to pack, and how early you should arrive at the airport for your flight. • Be aware of services in place at Toronto Pearson that can help improve your travel experience: Valet Parking at Terminal 1, Airport Customer Assistance Program for passengers with mobility issues, GTAA Reduced Rate Parking Area and the Cell Phone Parking Lot as some examples. For more information on these and other services please visit www.GTAA.com.
