Special Assistance

For information about airport accessibility, contact Terminal Information Services at (416) 247-7678 for Terminal 1, or (416) 776-5100 for Terminal 3.

Getting around the Airport

The GTAA provides wheelchairs and electric vehicles for passengers requiring assistance as they travel throughout the airport. The Airport Customer Assistance Program (ACAP) was initiated to ensure all passengers can travel throughout the airport without difficulty. To pre-arrange assistance, complete an ACAP request form. For more information on the ACAP program, contact (416) 776-ACAP (toll free: 1-877-297-ACAP). Toronto Pearson also offers porters at both terminals to help passengers with their baggage.

It is important to notify your air carrier or travel agent when requesting special assistance with your flight reservation. Your air carrier can provide information on the use of wheelchairs, a passenger escort service, transportation within the airport, and support in checking in, boarding, and arriving at your destination. Click here for a listing of airlines that serve Toronto Pearson.

Passengers who have pre-booked wheelchair services 24 hrs in advance will be met within 20 minutes of their request for a departure flight and at the aircraft door for an arrival at Pearson. Passengers who have not pre-booked wheelchair assistance in advance can expect a delay in service.

Drop off/Pick up Curb Locations

Designated pick up and drop off locations are available on the inner curbs at both terminals for passengers requiring special assistance. Look for accessibility signage when you arrive at the Arrival and Departure curbs. They are located at the following posts:

Terminal 1

  • Departures Level: Posts 9, 21, 37
  • Arrivals Level: Posts C3, E1

Terminal 3

  • Departures Level: Posts 17, 29

Parking and LINK Train

Each parking area at Toronto Pearson offers accessible parking spaces in convenient areas. For information about parking locations and fees, click here. In addition, the LINK Train is fully accessible, and transports passengers between terminals and to the Reduced Rate and Employee Parking Lots.

Prearranged Waiting Areas for Taxis/Limousines and Private Pickup

Toronto Pearson offers a designated waiting area for passengers with special needs who are waiting for a taxi, limousine, or individual passenger pickup.

All drivers picking up passengers with special needs are asked to abide by the following procedures. This is a complementary service.

  1. Proceed to the "Pre-Arranged & Charter Bus" Holding Area, located at 6288 Silverdart Drive.
  2. Park your vehicle and proceed to the registration office.
  3. Complete the registration form.
  4. Provide the completed registration form to the dispatcher who will issue you with a curb permit.
  5. Remain with your vehicle until the dispatcher announces your name, permit number, and the location to pick up your passenger.
  6. Should you have any questions or concerns, return to the registration office and speak to a dispatcher.

Arriving passengers are to proceed to the Pre-Arranged post on the Arrivals Level of the terminal. A Pre-Arranged Attendant will ask for your name and the name of the driver picking you up. The curbside dispatcher will contact the dispatch office and request that your vehicle be dispatched to the terminal. Pre-Arranged Pickup Locations are as follows:

  • Terminal 1: Door D1
  • Terminal 3: Post 23
