Our Services

Our goal is to be recognized as the centre of excellence for emergency services training worldwide.

The Fire & Emergency Services Training Institute (FESTI) is the single point of access for programs for new recruits, firefighters and business that are interested in certification or expanding their skills. Some of the programs we offer include:

FESTI also provides CPR and First Aid Programs for businesses that are geared to meet industry, business and government requirements. Our expansive facility and course availability allow us to meet a variety of needs.

NFPA Programs
NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Awareness

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Emergency Response Personnel (fire, police, EMS, and others) who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency.

NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operations

Prerequisite: Awareness Level, NFPA 1001 or equivalent
Audience: First Responders at the operational level.

NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Technicians

Prerequisite: Documented proof of Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operational Training Audience: Hazardous Materials Technicians.

NFPA 472 Incident Command

Prerequisite: Documented proof of Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operational training Audience: Incident Commanders.

NFPA 1001 Level I & II Standard for Fire Fighter Professional

Prerequisite: High School Diploma/GED
Audience: New recruits for professional service as a firefighter.

NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter Professional

Prerequisite: Certified Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials Operational Level
Audience: Fire Departments, both civilian and military whose primary mission is aircraft fire and rescue.

NFPA 1006 Confined Space Rescue

Prerequisite: Candidate must be a Certified Firefighter or have documented proof of a Hazardous Materials Operations Level course; and introduction to Technical Rescue; and must have completed a Emergency Patient Care (First Responder)s Course or Emergency Medical Care.

Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Programs
ARFF Recertification 2 days IAW C.A.R.S 323.14 (2) (a) (xi) (A-F)

Prerequisite: Certified as an Airport Firefighter
Audience: Firefighters

ARFF Recertification 1 day IAW C.A.R.S 323.14 (4) (b)

Prerequisite: Certified as an Airport Firefighter
Audience: Firefighter Personnel

ARFF Vehicle Service Test

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Firefighters Personnel

ARFF Awareness for Structural Firefighters IAW C.A.R.S 303 and 328

Prerequisite: NFPA 1001 or Equivalent
Audience: Municipal fire Departments that have an airport within their jurisdiction.

Professional Development
Command and Control

Prerequisite: NFPA 1001 or Equivalent
Audience: Firefighting Personnel

Radio Procedures

Audience: Firefighting Personnel

Public Safety Programs
Portable Fire Extinguisher Training

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Public

Wheel Unit Extinguisher Training

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Public

Respiratory Programs
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Developed for those individuals who may require added respiratory protection in their line of work.

Annual Fit Testing (SCBA & N95)

Prerequisite: Must be clean-shaven to allow for a face to mask seal.
Audience: Firefighters

Confined Space Training
Confined Space Entry

Prerequisite: It is recommended that participants complete a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Program prior to attending this course. This is not mandatory but recommended.
Audience: Firefighters

Confined Space Recertification

Prerequisite: Confined Space Entry Courses
Audience: Firefighters

Medical Training
Standard First Aid & Basic Rescuer (Adult, child, infant CPR)

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

Standard First Aid & Heart saver (Adult CPR)

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

Standard First Aid & Basic Rescuer Renewal

Prerequisite: Current First Aid Certificate, Read Pre-Course Materials given during Qualification course.
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

Standard First Aid & Heart Saver Renewal

Prerequisite: Current First Aid Certificate and candidates will need to read pre-course materials given during the qualification course.
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

CPR Basic Rescuer

Prerequisite: None
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

CPR Renewal

Prerequisite: Current CPR Certificate
Audience: Anyone who want to learn more first aid skills. This course is geared to meet industry, business and government requirements.

Public Access Defibrillators

Prerequisite: Valid CPR Course

Emergency Patient Care (First Responder)
